About Me

For 40+ years I've been solving the same problem: how do you turn black boxes into tools that empower people?

**What I'm Building Now**

I run the **Semantic Infrastructure Lab (SIL)** — a research lab building foundational infrastructure for AI systems. Think "Linux for knowledge work."

**Shipping code, not slides:** - **Reveal** (v0.19.0) — Code structure explorer, 10-150x token reduction - **Morphogen** (v0.11.0) — Multi-domain computation platform, 39 domains, 606 operators - **TIA** — AI development environment, 200+ commands, 8,469 files indexed

**The Pattern**

At 13, I published my first technical article explaining Commodore 64 sprite techniques. At Microsoft (1997-2010), I built APIs that made distributed systems accessible, and malware scanners that let researchers inspect dangerous code safely. In consulting, I helped companies transform overwhelming data into action.

Now I'm building the semantic layer that makes AI tools compose and verify.

**What I Teach:** - How to think *with* AI, not just prompt it - Building developer tools that actually ship - Progressive disclosure and token-efficient workflows - Making AI systems transparent and inspectable

**What I Don't Do:** - Sell "secrets" or shortcuts - Promise overnight transformation - Pretend AI is magic - Position myself as a guru

I'm not the hero who saves you. I'm a builder who makes you capable.

One step ahead in semantic infrastructure. Still learning everything else.

My Teaching Philosophy

Glass-box transparency. Every tool I teach, I built. Every workflow I recommend, I use daily.

My approach: 1. **Ship, then teach** — Real tools from real production 2. **Empowerment, not dependency** — You need me less over time 3. **Show the work** — 1,900+ sessions, 83K lines of docs, all visible 4. **Practical** — If it doesn't ship, why build it?

What Makes Me Different

Production systems shipping. 25x token reduction measured. Building the infrastructure layer that doesn't exist yet.
